Creative partners Murri filmmaker Simon Rose Birriah | Gurreng Gurreng (The Great Aboriginal people) and Installation and performance artist Dr Bon Mott collaborated on the following audio-visual conversation developments with Victorian artists from diverse backgrounds; (Indigenous community, queer, transgender, non-binary, neurodiverse and feminist Victorians) by facilitating safe platforms to elevate their voices and sharing their unique stories for positive social change.

Collaborators Simon Rose and Bon Mott have worked full-time in their artistic practice to produce public work. For Simon, the collaborations with Bon Mott stay true to and are guided by an Indigenous cultural methodology of relationship to Country, people, voice and dreaming.

Bon Mott completed a PhD in Performance Arts in 2022. The completion of this PhD involved many exhibitions and public performances. For Bon Mott, collaboration with Simon Rose is critical to their art practice because the generosity of Simon’s knowledge sharing helps guide creative processes and developments about the importance of learning Indigenous Knowledge for social change to prevent further plant and animal extinction.

This project offers Queer artists and Indigenous ideas public platforms through film, photography, installation and performance. The project involves interviews projected onto silk at 226 Gertrude St, Fitzroy, due to the First Nations History of Gertrude St and that Bon Mott _/\\_ facilitates @secondspaceprojects from this address. The interviews will be conducted with Victorians who identify as Indigenous, queer, transgender, non-binary, neurodiverse and/or feminist. In these interviews, artists will address the challenges of social anxiety and isolation to highlight the importance of promoting ongoing social change during these uncertain times, creating a platform for expansive thinking. Identity diversity is critically important in the arts. This community drives innovation and social change but faces barriers in breaking through the glass ceiling to achieve success and recognition. The project offers queer artists and Indigenous ideas public platforms through film, photography, installation and performance. By creating new works for new audiences, we aim to elevate the voice of non-normative people, creating a platform for expansive thinking on Nike Catalysts and RMIT CARE FOR COMMUNITY. NIKE LAB KULIN NATION Dream Future event and workshops took place on 08 August 2023. The films were supported by Creative Victoria - Creative Projects Fund Jul 2022 - Deaf and Disabled.
